The body is pretty bloody incredible and much more resilient than we believe… yet many of us live our lives in fear of getting injured.
Running is bad for your joints… you’ll ‘slip a disk’ if you bend over like that… squatting is bad for your knees… don’t lift too heavy… your back hurts? Better stay away from the gym until it heals…
Our bodies are not that fragile! When an injury occurs it is often a case of too much too soon, or too little, too often.
Unfortunately we tend to be reactive rather than proactive when it comes to pain and injuries and that’s where the issue lies.
How much attention do you pay to your recovery? Do you work on your mobility? Is your core strong? How’s your shoulder stability? When was the last time you had a massage, a hot bath or simply switched off from social media?
The body is strong and capable of great things but like anything, everyday wear and tear will occur and how you take care of it will determine how well it functions.
Look after your body and it will look after you!
